Senator Anthony P. DeLuca II represents District 29 in Warwick in the Rhode Island Senate. First elected on November 8, 2022, he ran for office out of concern for the future of the district and the state, committing to improve the quality and cost of living in our state. Senator DeLuca has deep roots in the community he loves, having lived there his whole life. He is a graduate of St. Kevin’s School and
Warwick Veterans Memorial High School.
Senator DeLuca served as an East Greenwich firefighter for more than ten years before working as a licensed EMT for Med Tech Ambulance. As such, he realizes the importance of keeping our Police and Fire Departments funded for the health and safety of our citizens. He worked in local businesses like Salk’s Hardware and Marine, The Islander, and Quinn’s Funeral Home, and recognizes the resources, services, and good jobs these and other businesses provide to the community.
Senator DeLuca is currently a proud member of Union RI Council 94 AFSCME working in the Warwick Water Department, helping to keep your water clean and running and recognizing how essential government services are to residents.
As a father of three children, all attending Warwick public and parochial schools, he is committed to making Rhode Island a state in which all children have access to good schools and good jobs. That’s why he voted to increase funding for schools by $70 million and for an additional $5 million to improve reading and math achievement.
Senator DeLuca deeply enjoys connecting with constituents, listening to their concerns, and being their voice at the State House. He cites his service on impactful Senate Committees, including the Senate Committee on Judiciary and the Senate Committee on Commerce, as highlights of his first term. In addition to his legislative work, Senator DeLuca was appointed to the Permanent Joint Committee on State Lottery, the Senate Non-Plurality Voting Commission, and the Joint Commission on Female Recidivism.
His firm belief that government should be part of the solution, and not the problem, spurs him to work diligently for tax relief and reforms, as well as policies that will ease the financial burdens of inflation driven by unchecked government spending on the costs of basic necessities like housing, energy, healthcare, and groceries.
Senator DeLuca was the primary sponsor of legislation (S-2214) to establish an Office of Inspector General, which would possess the authority to conduct investigations, review contracts, perform audits, and issue valuations of governmental agencies and programs to safeguard against potential waste, inefficiency, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement. He will continue to advocate for robust, autonomous oversight to ensure taxpayers are getting the most efficient use of their hard-earned dollars and a government that is transparent, accountable, and effective.
Senator DeLuca’s background and experience bring a unique perspective to the Senate to advocate for effective investment in our infrastructure, expanded educational opportunities, small business support, and the preservation of our individual rights and freedoms. He knows firsthand the difficulties working families face every day, which is why his focus has been and will continue to be fiscal responsibility and structural change to improve the lives and livelihoods of Rhode Islanders.
This November 5th, vote for integrity, diligence, and commitment. Vote to Re-elect Senator Anthony P. DeLuca II.
